All Gifts MATCHED!

Our shelter stars recently made their debut in our short film, The Maltese’s Falcon.

Before their Howllywood moment, they were shelter animals who needed a second chance. Today, they’re thriving in loving homes.

But many others are still waiting and they need help now.

Donate today to DOUBLE your gift for Oakland’s shelter animals.

Watch the short film, share it, and make a lifesaving gift to Oakland's shelter animals!

Help More Animals Shine

The story of The Maltese's Falcon is fictional, but the animals who need your help are very real.

Every actor in this noir-inspired film is a shelter animal who received support from FOAS-funded lifesaving programs that give them safety, support, and the chance to become the stars they truly are.

Today, more lives are saved at OAS than ever before.
The impact we've made is undeniable, and your support helps keep us going!

All donations through December 31 will be MATCHED!

Double your impact to help animals in Oakland get the care and support they need to get their big break.

About The Stars of Film

Felicia came to OAS after being left behind when her family moved. At OAS, she enjoyed playgroups and received medical and behavior support to help her manage stress. After spending over a month in the shelter, she finally found the right fit and is now happily adopted.

Rue came into OAS as a shy stray, but she quickly gained confidence through shelter playgroups, showing off her friendly, playful side. She moved on to a foster home where she thrived and got along wonderfully with the resident dogs. Now she’s been adopted and is loving her new home.

Peppa was found in the OAS parking lot in a crate without a door. Shelter staff quickly gave her the care that she needed and made sure she was safe and warm. Peppa was then placed into the adoption program, where she was quickly adopted into a loving home.

Chicago arrived at OAS very anxious and afraid. He got a lot of support from volunteers and staff to help him cope with his new environment, and he thrived in shelter playgroups. After a rough start, he’s now been happily adopted.

Dunlin arrived at OAS as just a tiny baby. With the help of the small animal team and caring fosters, he is getting the support, safety, and love needed while waiting for a loving adoptive home.
In the past few weeks, OAS has seen an influx of rabbits, with over 60 rabbits arriving at the shelter. Your donation supports lifesaving programs to help rabbits like Dunlin.

Animals Helped in Community Outreach

FOAS-supported community outreach clinics bring vaccinations and essential wellness care to underserved neighborhoods and unhoused pet guardians, helping people in need keep their animals healthy and safe.

Every time we close a case, it’s because someone out there decided to care.
This community? You’re the real muscle behind the mission.
